This Winter/Holiday themed candle holder will hold up to a 4" diameter candle. The parts are cut from 1/4" thick wood. I used Baltic birch plywood for this test cut but I suggest a nice hardwood to give the project a more finished look.
Where is the stand?
When I posted the layered nature scene the other day I had it sitting on a plate stand. Several people asked about the pattern for the stand. It was part of another pattern I published some time back. Here is the link to download that other pattern if you want to cut the stand.
Control the blade drift:
There is one issue when cutting with a scroll saw that many new scrollers have to adjust to. Because of the way scroll saw blades are made they cut at an angle in relation to the scroll saw table. We call this blade drift. Some blades are designed to minimize drift but they all drift at least a little. It takes a little practice but you soon get used to the drift and compensate.
There is an additional caution about blade drift that some people overlook. As scroll saw blades get dull the drift changes. This can mess with your mind because you have to compensate for the compensation. The obvious solution is to not let the blade get dull. Unfortunately, we rarely listen to that advice. We push the blade because we are in a hurry or are running low on blades. Sometimes we are just too ornery to take the time to stop and replace the blade.
The key is to recognize that the drift angle is changing. You will normally notice the change as you make a sharp turn. You will start rounding over the turn. You will start to cut off the line immediately after the turn. This is because the drift angle has changed and you are still compensating for the original drift.
As long as you understand what is happening you can make the adjustment in your mind and get back on the line.

This WEN entry-level scroll saw is priced at $103.52 on Amazon. I am not one who says you have to start with a $500 plus scroll saw. Almost none of us did. We all purchased an entry-level saw and then moved up when we can across limitations.
The WEN 3922 does have some limitations but so do all entry-level saws. I own this saw and have used it to make a few projects as a test. I would not want to replace my high-end scroll saws with it but I got the projects made. If you want to get into the hobby and are on a limited budget then the WEN is one of the better entry-level saws.
