There are times when I design a pattern and don't know what its intended purpose is. That kind of explains this pattern. I just started drawing and this popped out. :)
I don't know if it is a box or a basket but it can hold things. My first thought was to put a small potted plant in the basket. I did not have one handy so I grabbed a candle.
I used 1/4" thick walnut for this cut but I think you could use Baltic birch plywood if you painted the finished project.
It also reminded me of a small pedestal. You would want to turn the side walls right side up if you intended to use it this way.
I'll just leave it up to your imagination on how to use this pattern.

I have posted this DIY scroll saw stand plan before but I like to show it every few months. Steve Carmichael has done an excellent job creating the plans for this stand and he sells them on Etsy for $6.
The stand can be modified for most scroll saws.
I like that he included storage and made it mobile. He also included a method to tilt the saw slightly forward. Fo me this tilt is critical. All of my scroll saws are tilted forward. Not only does it make it easier to see the work but it does wonders for keeping my back from getting sore when I cut for long periods.
I use factory stands on all of my saws because I need to review them but they are not cheap so you may be interested in a DIY project. If that is something you think you need then these are the best plans I have found online. Watch the video below to see how nice this stand is.
