This project requires an electric tea light candle. The flame of a real candle would be too close to the wood.
I used 1/4" and 1/2" wood for this small Swan Lake tea light stand. As I was designing this pattern I was thinking about decorations for reception tables after a wedding. Of course, it can also be used as a home decoration.
This is a novice-level pattern. There are only four interior cuts. The swan's eye and the three slots in the base.
Update: I'm going to complain.
It has been almost three weeks since I had a fall and bruised my ribs. I thought I was mending well but dang the pain keeps coming back. I have honestly slowed way down on my activities but it is getting frustrating.
When I first mentioned my fall many of you reached out and told me your stories of injured ribs. With very few exceptions the story was the same. You said it takes a long time for rib injuries to heal. You were right.
Now don't get me wrong. Compared to the first week after the fall I am much better. I could not even sleep in my bed for a few days. I had to sleep sitting up. Now I may be moving along and the strangest small twist or movement and the pain comes back and sticks around for a while.
I know I was lucky that the ribs were not broken. I would hate to see how long that takes to heal.
Okay, I'm finished complaining. Well, I'll probably still complain but Patty will remind me about her multiple surgeries for back pain and I will shut up for a while. 😏
