I guess this pattern is a couple of weeks late but we have quite a bit of summer left. My daughter has my "Hello Spring" projects on her front door and she reminded me that Spring is over. 😀
Flip flops and flowers are sure signs of summer so I thought they would decorate this sign well. The project is eight inches and can be cut from 1/4" or 1/8" plywood.
My wife, Patty is celebrating a special birthday this July and wanted to do something for the whole family. We booked a cruise on the Belle of Lousiville down the Ohio River for about 30 family and friends. We left out of Louisville and the trip lasted about two hours.
We had absolutely beautiful weather. About 80 degrees with a nice wind. We started out with a tasty catered lunch and then embarked on a beautiful trip down the river. There was a knowledgeable tour guide on the PA system telling about the history of the Belle and many of the sights.
I grew up in this area but had never been on the Belle before. It was a really pleasant trip. I was surprised at how smoothly the boat moved down the river. I tend to get motion sick and this was not a problem at all.
Patty's niece knows some of the staff who work on the Belle and had the calliope player, play happy birthday as we boarded. We also had the opportunity to go down to the engine room. It was awesome to see the mechanical side of the boat.
I felt like everyone enjoyed the experience and I would have been happy to spend all day on the boat.
If you are ever in the Louisville KY area this is a great half-day event.
