When I was a child we always gathered in the kitchen to sit and talk. Anytime family or friends came over we headed to the kitchen. The adults would sit and talk while we kids played on the floor. We rarely used the living room other than the couple hours a day that we watched television. I think my mom and grandmother just felt comfortable in the kitchen. It also kept them close to the coffee pot.😀
My grandmother on my moms' side was a real character. She could tell some crazy stories sitting at the kitchen table. I just remember it as family time and good times.
My grandmother always owned restaurants back then and my mom often worked with her. They were both good cooks. As I was making this pattern I was searching for words to add and a memory popped into my head. The memory was of my grandmother saying " There is love in that pot". That was nearly 60 years ago and that quote was still in the back of my head. I think that says something about family time in the kitchen.
