This saw art is a little over 16" long. You will need to cut the pattern on the dotted line and tape it together before applying it to the wood. All the parts are 1/4" thick. Use 1/4" wooden dowel for the handle rivots.
Lanesville Heritage Weekend
We make an effort to attend numerous local craft events in our area. Last Friday morning, we made a trip to Lanesville, Indiana, for their annual Lanesville Heritage Weekend.
Lanesville is a small town with a population of just under 1,000 people. Remarkably, it boasts an impressively low poverty rate and a median household income exceeding $82,000. The natural beauty of this region in Indiana is truly striking.
Although I had never attended the Heritage Weekend before, I had heard it was a nice event. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. It turned out to be an outstanding festival with a wealth of attractions. Their collection of meticulously restored tractors was one of the largest I had ever encountered. The vendor booths showcased exceptionally well-crafted arts and crafts. Furthermore, there was no shortage of food trailers offering reasonably priced refreshments. It was a day well worth experiencing! If you are in the area then I suggest visiting Lanesvill this weekend.
My brother-in-law Steve Q, restores tractors and old gas engines. He had his tractor at the event and it was looking great.
His trailer with the old restored gas engines showcased just how innovative the engineers were in the early 1900s. My knowledge of engines of this era is nil so I enjoyed the education. Steve did pull a fast one on me. He asked me to turn over the flywheels on one of the engines to get it started. He neglected to tell me how much compression that engine had. I could barely move the flywheels. 😁
Steve has been working on farm equipment since he was six years old. His father was an excellent mechanic and Steve was a sponge for learning the craft.
This was a typical country festival and today's pattern was inspired by my time there.
