This toy train is cut from 3/4" thick wood. Each car has three layers and is approximately 10" long. If you cut the three cars the train is close to 30" long.
There are wheel patterns included. There are quite a few, so you can purchase 1.25" wheels to make the project easier. The wheel patterns have spokes. You can also eliminate cutting the spokes to make cutting the wheels easier.
I like to use screw eyes to couple the cars of the train. You can do a permanent couple with the full screw eye or a temporary couple with the hook style.
Each car is 2.25" thick with three layers. If you want the cars to be more stable then cut another center layer for each car.
