Christmas in July offers a delightful opportunity to enjoy the spirit of the holiday season in the warmth of summer.
These patterns are fairly large. The Santa pattern is roughly 15" tall. The complete set, as pictured, is about 2 feet wide. All the layers are 1/4" thick.
The Christmas Wreath is 10.25" wide and cut from 1/4" thick wood. There are over 30 pieces to this pattern and you will need to track the parts as you cut so you don't have a jigsaw puzzle when you get ready to glue them on to the backer board.

There really is no definitive wood to choose for the scroll saw. I have cut most of our domestic woods and many exotic woods. The scroll saw will cut almost all wood species with the right blade, but this is about the basics. There are a few that are either too brittle or too hard, but they are not common. If you are new to the scroll saw, this document will give you a place to start.
