The pink flamingo is one of nature’s most flamboyant birds, known for its long legs, graceful neck, and striking rosy color—which actually comes from its diet of algae and crustaceans rich in beta-carotene. These social birds gather in massive flocks that can number in the thousands, creating a sea of pink across lakes and lagoons. Surprisingly, flamingos often stand on one leg to conserve body heat, even in warm climates. Their beaks are specially adapted to filter-feed in shallow water, working upside down like a built-in strainer. Despite their delicate appearance, flamingos are tough survivors, thriving in salty, alkaline lakes where few other animals can live.
The pattern is over ten inches tall. The pattern calls for 1/4" and 1/2" thick wood.
The Just Marries Couple pattern is 8" tall and cut from two, 1/4" thick layers. Another option is to add a gold plaque with the bride and groom's names on it. It becomes a memory for the couple.
