The layered Nativity is cut from 1/4" thick wood. The figure Joseph is around 5" tall. I have designed this layered style of Nativity pattern before, but I wanted this pattern to be easier to cut. I tried to keep the interior cuts to a minimum. The stable has a few interior cuts, but they are not too small. This project is a beginner level, with the exception that there are over 60 parts to cut. Take your time, and you will do fine.
I created this poem titled "The True Meaning of Christmas." If you enjoy the poem, I also added it to a Christmas card that you can download below as a PDF file. Print it out on cardstock and give it to family and friends. Feel free to scale the card down to about 75% if it is too large for you. As printed, it will be 8" tall. If you take it to a print shop, they may refuse to print it, thinking it is copyrighted. Show them this text that I give permission to print as many as you like.

In a manger, cold and bare,
A holy night, a tiny child.
Noel, Noel, the angels sing,
A humble birth, a newborn King.
Not in the tinsel, bright and grand,
Nor gifts we hold within our hand,
But in the love that Christmas brings,
The true joy that His presence sings.
A star above, a guiding light,
Dispelling shadows of the night.
For in this Babe, so pure and sweet,
The heart of Christmas is complete.
So let us ponder, soft and deep,
The sacred promise that we keep,
Of Christ, our Savior, meek and mild,
The meaning true, the holy Child.
