DeWalt DW788 Slipping Blade Repair.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
I was out in the shop tonight getting ready to do a repair on one of my DeWalt DW788 machines. It was exhibiting a very common and frustrating problem. The blade was slipping out of the lower clamp while cutting. It was especially bad with smaller blades.

I had not thought about doing a video but I had my iPhone on me so I figured this might be useful information. I apologize for the shaky and portrait video but it was spur of the moment. The information is the important part.

The part I show you how to check and repair is not very expensive and it can save tons of frustration. I ordered the part from http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/  but you could order it from DeWalt also.

The part is item #36 on the schematic and costs $12.72. When I ordered mine it was showing out of stock for the Type 2 model but in stock for the type 1. They are the same.

I show how to check and repair the problem. I also show the cause of the damage. This is good information for the Delta line of saws also.
