College and professional football are underway and it's "Game Time". This is a simple clock for the game room or man cave.
Living in Lexington Ky, the home of the Kentucky Wildcats, we don't often get a reason to be over the top thrilled with our football program. They have been respectable in the last couple of years and the program seems to be moving in the right direction but we always know we will struggle to compete in the SEC. The SEC is so strong that if you don't have top 25 talent you are in trouble.
That's still true but we finally got over a hurdle that has terrorized Kentucky football fans for 31 years. Last weekend we beat Florida for the first time in 31 games. That was the longest losing streak against a top conference team in the country. Most of the games over those years were not even close. Florida simply dominated Kentucky. Occasionally Kentucky would have a shot in the game only to have it taken away at the last seconds. It was brutal.
As a fan, it's nice to have a big win over a program that is one of the best in the country. Florida may not have a team that they are used to having but they are still elite and a big feather in the cap of anyone who gets a win over them. It was a good weekend in Lexington.

This pattern requires a clock movement. In this pattern, I use 1/2" thick wood so the clock movement needs to match. I want to share a story that I received from a reader. First, let me tell you that I am an Amazon affiliate. I make a small but not insignificant fee when you purchase from Amazon using my link.
Here is the story and one of the reasons I team with Amazon. Terry emailed me the other day with a problem he was having with a 16" Excalibur scroll saw he had just purchased from Amazon. We still don't know exactly what the problem is but let us just say it's broke.
I recommended that he just return the machine and not even bother trying to figure out the cause of the problem. It was obviously broke. Unfortunately, Terry had received an email stating that the machine was not returnable. He did not know the reason but that was the information he had received. When he told me this I was concerned he may have been scammed because Amazon return policy is very good. I ask that he send me the link to the exact page he had ordered from.
I looked at the page and it was legit. It was an Amazon page for the Excalibur by General International and shipped by Amazon Prime. Everything looked good so I still did not understand why he had received the no return information.
Here is what Terry found out after he contacted Amazon directly for more information. The saw is considered hazardous material because it has a blade so it is not returnable. Now that would make the hair stand up on your neck and start WWIII right? Wait for it....
Because they could not accept a return they just sent another machine and told Terry to keep the one that was broke. Now to be honest I don't think the Amazon person was correct but at least she was able to immediately make her customer happy. That's the point of this story. Customer satisfaction.
I order from Amazon multiple times a week for business supplies and other personal items. I am a Prime member and love the perks I get from that membership. I order enough product that the free shipping covers the cost of my membership. I also get free movies, music, two-day free shipping, and other useful perks.
I respect those who wish to purchase from local stores. I will often do that myself. One reason many people tell me they buy locally is for the customer care. I wish I had that experience but my care from Amazon surpasses any service I get locally. That's a shame but it's my experience. On top of the great service, I almost always save money when I order from Amazon.
I wanted to share this story for a couple of reasons. First I wanted to share why I use the Amazon Affiliate program. I get a lot of email asking about the ads in the blog posts. I also wanted to share the happy customer story for those of you who do not use the Amazon store. It's information that you can use if you want to try Amazon.
I will try to work with Terry and see if we can figure out what is actually wrong with the machine. It will require some disassembly but it's probably not a serious problem.
