2019 Graduation Tassel Display Scroll Saw Pattern.

This plaque allows the graduate to hang their graduation tassel. I intentionally left a little extra room near the bottom so you could add the name of the graduate. Remember that I make sure the pattern pages of the PDF remain vectors. This allows you to import the pattern into a program like the free Inkscape and make edits.

Here is a quick tutorial using Inkscape to add your graduates name to the pattern.

Video Share by Albert Baggetta:

It's always fun when we share ideas with the community. Albert had a problem and found a way to solve it for himself. He took the time to put together a video and post it on YouTube for others who may find his idea helpful.

Albert wrote me an email telling me about his fix and said he thought others may like to see it. I have seen the problem he describes a few times. It is a weak point of the Excalibur type of saw.

The part will fail over time if you overtighten the thumb screw. It will also fail if you have the habit of pushing on the thumb screw as he demonstrates in the video. I'm sure there are people who also push on the thumb screw the way Al has the habit of doing.

My first suggestion for solving the problem is to use your left hand to hold down the chuck while installing the blade with your right hand. If this is challenging for you because of issues with your hands then maybe Al's device will be helpful.

Take a look at the video and see if this is something you are interested in.

Don't waste your money on poor quality scroll saw blades. High-quality blades are sharper, last longer and make you more accurate. The best news is that they may actually cost less because they last longer.

I use and recommend two different brands. Pegas and Niqua(Flying Dutchman). If you are new to the hobby and need advice on which blades are best to get started with then drop me an email and I'll be happy to help.

I work with Bear Woods because I trust them. When we first started our collaboration they only sold Pegas blades. I asked Stephen if he would also start carrying Niqua and he made it happen. Now they have every blade you need. Stephen cares about our community. Please support the businesses who support our hobby.
