Guitar Clock Scroll Saw Pattern.

My nephew took up the guitar a few months ago. He has progressed pretty quickly and seems to have a passion for the instrument. I don't get a chance to visit him too often so I thought I would make him a small gift for his bedroom. I used 1" thick cherry for the clock body and 1/2" thick maple for the base. The clock is about ten inches long.

The clock requires a 2 3/4" clock insert. Here is an affiliate link to the clock at Bear Woods. Your price remains the same but I get a small kickback from your purchase.

The pattern link is below. I get a lot of emails asking me to place the download link next to the picture of the project. I understand that would be easier but I don't do it because I need people to see the products I have for sale. By placing the download button below you have to scroll down and see the ads. I know this is a pain but it is the only way I can keep the blog funded. I hope that keeping the patterns free makes up for the hassle of the ads. Thanks for understanding.

WEN 3410 3-Speed Remote-Controlled Air Filtration System (300/350/400 CFM)

I purchased my WEN Air Filtration System back in December of 2017. I have been extremely pleased with the machine. At $126.38 it is a bargain. Most units are double that price. The WEN is not the most powerful unit you can buy but for the small workshop, it is more than adequate. It will turn over all the air in a 400sf shop over seven times an hour.

If you pair this filtration system with good dust collection at the machine you will go a long way towards keeping the small dust particles out of your lungs. I cannot overstate how important it is to protect your lungs. I recently had a friend and fellow woodworker pass away from IPF. They suspect the condition was caused at least to some degree from his woodworking without protecting his lungs.
It really is important so at the very least, wear your dust mask.

You can see in this picture that I have my unit mounted to the ceiling with the supplied hardware. It is not terribly heavy but this is a two man job. I put it up there by myself and it was not easy.

The Wen unit comes with remote control. You can set it to three different speeds and three different timers. When I go into my shop I set it to high speed and the six-hour timer. Even on the highest speed, the noise is not bad at all. I just crank it up and let it run.

The unit comes with a 1-micron filter and a 5-micron pre-filter. You want the filter to be good enough to catch the extra small particles. It is these very small particles that float in the air and make it into your lungs.

I see some guys put a cheap furnace filter on a box fan to try to filter the air. While that is better than nothing it will almost never clean the air like a good filtration system.
