This fretwork box is eight inches long and four inches deep. It is cut from 1/4" thick Baltic birch plywood for everything except the wall liners. They are 1/8" thick BB ply.
I included a few different ornaments for the top of the box. This is a good project for you to make your own ornamentation for the box top.
What was the foreign language in yesterdays post?
инээдмийн баяр
At the end of yesterday's post, there was the line of text above. I received dozens of emails asking about the grain of rice post and one question that come up several times was asking me for an explanation of this text. I put it there as part of the April fools day gag. It was simply Mongolian for April fools. Just part of my silly sense of humor and to see how many people would be curious about the meaning. Several people asked but one person did translate it and replay to me in Mongolian. That was cool.
If you have never used Google translate it is worth the bookmark.
