If you use one of my Key Fob pattern generators you need split rings and ball chain. This pack contains 100 split rings and 100 ball chains with links. People love to get these custom key chains as gifts.

Fancy Peacock Scroll Saw Pattern.

The graphic for the Peacock pattern is from Clip art image by Cliparts.co. I modified if for use with the scroll saw. The graphic was a stencil. I used it to make a contoured shape which I cut the stencil out of. This gave me the beginning. I modified the position of the cutouts to make them easier to cut then I added a contoured backer board to finish the project.

This graphic will give you an idea of what I start with to make a pattern from a free to use graphic. In this case the graphic is called attribution ware. You can use the graphic as long as to give attribution to the original artist. The attribution is the link above.

There are two versions included in the pattern book. Versions 1 is 9.5 inches tall and the interior cuts pretty small. Version 2 is over 12 inches tall and will be easier to cut the interior pieces.

If you have a belt sander, spindle sander or disk sander then you need one of these cleaners. They unclog sandpaper better than any other method and they last a long time. I use mine nearly every time I am in the shop. I think I have purchased two in the last five years. You just get the belt running and hold the cleaner against the belt. Like magic the sand paper is like new.

Red Line Scroll Saw Patterns.

If you are visually impaired you my find scrolling red line patterns preferable to black line patterns. Many of my readers have told me over the years that they would like to have my patterns red line. I don't want to have to do every pattern twice but I do have a solution.

In this video I will show you a simple way to take my patterns and change them to red line. Best of all it won't cost you anything. Readers of my blog can use this commercial service for free. This Porter Cable saw received Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts magazines Best Entry Level machine a few years ago. At $199 it does provide a pretty good experience. I did a video review of this machine a while back and while it won't match a $1,000 Excalibur it does a more than decent job. If you need to be budget conscious this would be a good place to start.

Chopper Scroll Saw Pattern. I have a favor to ask.

This chopper is large. It is over 10 inches long and 6 inches tall. There is quite a bit of interior veining in the pattern. If you are new to this kind of pattern let me explain veining. Veining is the lines that add detail to the pattern. They usually start on the edge of the pattern and go into the pattern without exiting. The lines in the engine are and example of veining in this pattern. You cut these lines with the blade. Just make the cut to the end of the line then back the blade out. It's usually easier to back the blade out if you leave the scroll saw running.
