Patty and I went to an arts and crafts festival here in Southern Indiana yesterday. The drive there had the beginning of the trees changing colors. There were touches of orange. When we got to the event the leaves were falling from the trees. The weather was warm but not hot and the breeze had a bit of chill in it.

Fall officially starts here next Sunday and with the heat we had here this summer, I am ready for Fall temperatures. All the Fall festivals are starting to happen and I enjoy those very much. It is a nice time of year.

The two patterns today both feel like Fall. The autumn pumpkin pattern is 10.25" tall and is designed to hang on the front door of your house, both layers are 1/4" thick. 

The Pilgrim couple are 12" tall and the layers are 1/4" thick. If you weather protect them with exterior paint and add a steak you could put them in your yard or just sit them on the front porch.

The Angel Candle holder can hold up to a 4" diameter candle. This will be an easy pattern to cut for the holidays. The pattern calls for 1/4" and 1/2" thick wood but it will work fine if you only use 1/4". Please consider using an electric candle. They are safer and today's candles can look very real.

The Country Living Saw pattern will not be as easy to cut. Not only are there a few small interior cuts but the length of the saw is close to 20" long.

Pattern Mistakes: When I design a pattern, I sometimes get so involved in the process that I misspell a word and do not see the error. Or I will make the mistake of adding 11 disciples to the Last Supper pattern instead of 12. 

As I have gotten older I make more mistakes simply because I am less focused when I am tired. Sometimes I take on a pattern that I do not know much about, like motorcycles. 

By far the majority of you understand about the errors but I feel bad that some people will invest time and resources cutting a pattern and then find out it has a mistake. One thing that never bothers me is when you email me about a mistake. I need to know they exist so I can fix the ones that are broken. 

I am old enough to not get my feelings hurt too often and know that you are only trying to help. Thanks.

Dancer Art plus Ballroom Dancing Couple Scroll Saw Patterns

I am sure that a few of you have young dancers in your family. School dance team, Dance studio, and just the love of dancing. Maybe these patterns will be something they would enjoy.

The first pattern is 8" tall. The pattern calls for 1/2" thick wood. In the animation, I am showing a rendering of what it could look like with metallic paint. The paint is optional.

The Dancer pattern is more of my attempt at art than trying to add detail. I'll let you be the judge.

Ballroom Dancing is an amazing artistic form of partner dancing. Several years ago I watched an early episode of Dancing with the Stars. I was amazed at how hard the dances were when the celebrities practiced with the pros. To this day I still watch the show and enjoy it very much. 

I hope the Ballroom Dance Couple shows the elegance of the dancers. This kind of movement is difficult to capture but I think I got close.

The pattern is almost 10" tall. There are several layers but you can cut just the layers you want in your project.

 

 Large Last Supper Update

Several of you noticed the error in my Last Supper pattern I on the 5th of this month. I had 11 disciples at the table; of course, there were 12.  Someone asked if he was on a bathroom break. Unfortunately, he was not and I just made the error. You can download the update below.

If you missed the original download I will say that this is not going to be a beginner-level project. There are a few small interior cuts and the project is almost 24 " long. The table section is broken into three pieces. The easiest way to cut the pattern is to cut the three sections and glue them back together on a backer board.
