Segmented Easter Egg Box Scroll Saw Pattern.

This small segmented top Easter egg box will make a nice gift for the kids and adults. I did not do a lot of contour sanding on the segmented pieces because I was in a hurry to finish the cut for my deadline. More sanding would add more depth.

Another option is to stack cut two different species of wood like maple and walnut. You can then mix the parts to give more contrast to the decoration. 

 

This box requires a thick board to cut the walls of the box. I used a board that was 1 1/8" thick. You can go as thin as 3/4" if that is all you have. You may also consider doing a glue-up to make a thicker board.

When you cut the box walls, use a thicker blade to separate the inner and outer walls. This just helps ensure that the box opens and closes easily.
