Lanterns are still a very popular craft project. They can be very simple or quite complex. This one falls into the very simple category. It is cut from 3/4" thick wood. The more rustic the better. It is designed to sit on feet or be hung.
Because this pattern is meant to be somewhat rustic it would be okay to reinforce the joints with nails. These are just butt joints so they are not the strongest. If you decide to only use glue on the joints make sure it is a good glue joint and remains clamped until the glue is cured.
The candle in the photo is 3.5" in diameter. The lantern could hold up to a 4" diameter candle.
Another fun video from Tyler(Artisan Pirate):
Tyler cuts one of my Thanksgiving patterns. He always does a nice job and I appreciate that he uses my patterns in many of his videos.
Here is the link to the pattern he cuts in the video. https://www.stevedgood.com/thanks2020.pdf
Yard size Nativity Pattern:
I picked up the large prints from Stable today but I was not able to start cutting the project. The prints came out nice but I have some lower back pain this week and I don't want to start this cut until it feels better. I'll have to stand to cut this pattern and that does not sound appealing with my back hurting. Getting old can be painful. :)
Order your Personalized Christmas Ornament Patterns:
Personalized Christmas Ornament patterns are $1 each with a five ornament minimum. Each additional name adds an extra $1 to the total. 5 ornaments = $5. 20 ornaments = $20.
After you place the order I will complete the patterns and email them to you with a payment invoice. You have to be completely satisfied before you pay.
I do not offer blank patterns. This is one of the ways I support what I do. I ask that you please not use the template to create your own custom name patterns.
My goal is to have the orders complete in three days. I will keep you posted if there are delays.
