Yesterday, Patty and I picked up a commissioned painting of our dog, Holly. We needed to get a frame so we went to Hobby Lobby. As we walked in the front door a lady was exiting with a large painting of a longhorn steer. I thought it was an unusual choice but then I saw why in the store.
Almost every isle had paintings/decorations of farm animals and longhorn steers were everywhere. It is not unusual for me to look for trends when in stores like Hobby Lobby but this one just jumped off the shelves. Someone had decided farm animals were a decoration trend. The Farmhouse style has been around for a while but I have never seen it so narrowed down to a small subject base like farm animals.
I have to admit that I love the style but I know that others are not as big of a fan of the farm lifestyle.
Both of these patterns can use whatever wood you have on hand. The Lonhorn pattern calls for 1/4" and 1/2" thick wood. The farm animal patterns call for 3/4" thick wood.

Here in Southern Indiana, the weather has been pretty cold these last few days. We have seen single-digit lows so when a reader(Jarva Dodge) suggested a glove-drying rack I said yes. To be honest I have never seen this idea before but when I looked online I found many examples. So I guess it's a thing.
In this pattern, there is room for two pairs of gloves. The holes in the bottom box let air from the floor vent pass through and enter into the gloves. This dries and warms them for the next trip outdoors.
This is an easy project to build. The only caution is getting the wooden hands held tight. The wooden hands are inserted into slots in the bottom box. Undercut those slots so the hands fit tight
I have no idea if anyone will find a use for the mini picnic table but I designed it so I released it. Worst case maybe it can be used as doll furniture.
