This tray is ten inches in diameter. The top layer can be 3/4" thick or thicker. The bottom layer is 1/4" thick. If all you have is 3/4" stock then you could use that for the bottom layer also. Below are the options.

Scroll saw patterns can't get much simpler than this. Sometimes simple is all you need. A stovetop spoon rest is something everyone needs. Why try to make it complicated. I also included the pattern for the spoon. Maple, cherry, and walnut make good wooden spoons.
