Our family is grieving today. Yesterday we lost my Mother-in-Law. She was a very special person to me. When I was very young and going through tough times she was always there for me. I was in my teens when I started dating my wife. My home life was not the best and Sue made sure I had what I needed to stay in school and even found me a place to live when I was close to homeless.
Sue was the glue of the family. Over the years we always went to their house for every holiday and event. Anytime someone in the family was in need she was there. We will all miss her.
Please keep Patty and me in your prayers as we take time to make arrangements and spend time with family and friends. I'll see you in a few days.
As I designed this plaque I thought it might help someone else as they mourn the loss of a loved one.
I included a blank pattern so you could add your own text.

This candy cane dish is large enough to hold candy kisses, M&M's, or other small candies. The dish is 10.25" in length. The walls of the dish can be cut from different thicknesses of wood to make the dish as deep as you like. One inch deep would be a good choice.
Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Magazine.
We get new folks joining the hobby of scroll sawing all the time. They may not be familiar with all the resources for information about the hobby so I wanted to share this magazine. This is not a paid advertisement. I just enjoy the magazine and I believe you will also.
Fox Chapel Publishing puts out the Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts magazine. This is a high-quality magazine with patterns and articles produced by professionals. The photography is always first class and the patterns are printed clearly with good instructions.
The current subscription price for 1 year is $24.99 for four issues. At this same link, you can purchase back issues. I also saw a scroll saw collectors set of six classic issues for $19.99. That is a cool value.
If you enjoy the hobby of scrolling you will enjoy this magazine

Amazon marked down the price again. $399!
Amazon has marked down the DeWalt DW788 scroll saw a couple of times in the last week. At $399 the DW788 is a fantastic value. The ad says they only have 12 left in stock and at this price, those won't last long.
The DeWalt is what I consider a mid-level scroll saw but it competes with high-end saws well. If you are looking to upgrade from an entry-level saw then this is a good choice.
I am writing this on 12/4/22 and the ad says limited time deal.

Think Safety
Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
