Turn a scroll saw pattern into a 3D printer file with free software.
In the image above I have a basket that I published a scroll saw pattern for a while back. The bottom image is that basket printed on my 3D printer. In the video below I show the steps to turn the 2d PDF scroll saw pattern into a 3D printer file.
Let me be upfront here. This video uses very complex software. The software is free but the learning curve is high. This video just touches on the surface. You may need to learn more than what I show in the video to be successful. I am just pointing you in the right direction.

I use the
Sovol SV01 Pro to print this basket. It can print up to 11" X 9.5" X 11.8". That is a large print volume. The basket above was not printed in the highest quality mode and it still looks great. The basket printed in just over seven hours. At $359 dollars this printer is a good value. It gets good reviews. I purchased this printer less than a month ago but so far it has been easy to get very good prints.

Tyler from the Artisan Pirate YouTube channel cuts my Ring Basket Pattern.
Tyler is back in his shop and making videos. Tyler is a big help to me because he often cuts my patterns. They can give new scrollers the confidence to try a pattern that they may not think is in their skill set yet. Once they see Tyler cut the pattern it gives them tips and suggestions to jump in and try.
After you watch the video please leave a comment, hit the thumbs-up button, and subscribe. Tyler is closing into 10,000 subscribers and I would love to see him hit that milestone.

This is a compound cut pattern that you can make for your sweetheart. You will need a blank that is 1.5" X 1.5" X 6". You can find 1.5" X 1.5" X 36" boards at Home Depot in the craft wood section. You can also just cut down a construction grade 2" X 4".
For those of you not familiar with compound cutting here are the basics. The pattern is applied to the wood on two sides. Just cut out and fold the pattern in the middle. Interior holes are drilled in both sides. Cut all the interior cuts on one side then flip the board and cut the second side.
When you finish all the interior cuts you will have a solid block with the letters cut from each side. Like the example below.
I can make you a compound cut pattern with the name of your choice for $5.
No payment until after you have received the pattern and are completely satisfied. A payment link will be included with the email that has the pattern attached.
Please allow a couple of days for the pattern to be emailed to you. Watch your spam folder just in
case the email gets blocked.

Think Safety
Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
