If you downloaded this pattern please read this. I made a mistake in typing a link in the pattern book for this pattern from 5/27/2017. When I use graphics from free sources I always link to that source in the pattern book. The helmet and boot in this pattern came from www.freepik.com. Unfortunately I mis-typed and replaced the k with an x. If you go to the link with the x it will go to an adult site.
Please delete the pattern named memorial2017.pdf. I have removed the link from the pattern book and updated the links in the catalog and on the blog. Please download the updated pattern again if you want it.
If any of you clicked that link I am sorry for my error. As you can imagine I am embarrassed by this mistake.

I use a deadman style foot switch on all of my scroll saws. There are two styles of foot switches. The on/off and the deadman. The on/off starts the scroll saw when you click it and you can remove your foot and it will keep running. You have to click it again to turn the saw off. The deadman foot switch starts the saw when you place your foot on the switch and stops the saw when you remove your foot.
There are a few scrollers that prefer the on/off style but the majority use the deadman style. Personally I think the deadman is the preferred switch. It gives you faster and more accurate control to stop the saw from cutting. I have three of four of the switches in this ad and they have performed fine for several years. The price is under $25 and I think it is one of the more important accessories you will use.

Think Safety
Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
