I have two patterns for you today. The geese pattern is 13" X 10. It can be cut from any thickness of wood you like but for framing, 1/4" thick Baltic birch plywood is probably the best choice. You can stain or paint the backer board for visibility.
The love birds are 8" wide and cut from 1/4" thick wood.

This video has nothing to do with the scroll saw but the work was so beautiful that I wanted to share the video.
The carving in this video took a year to complete. Several artists worked on the project. The video is a little over five minutes. Enjoy.

This cowboy plaque is 10.25" X 8". All the parts are 1/4" thick.
When I was a boy my grandfather lived with us for a few years. He was an avid reader of Western novels. He loved the author,
Louis L'Amour. When he was finished with a novel I would sometimes pick it up and read a few pages. His stories were thrilling to me but I was a poor reader so I never finished one of his books. If you have time there is a complete Louis L'Amour audio book linked below. It is over 6 hours of audio so be prepared to mark your spot and continue later.
My grandfather told a story that was pretty remarkable. He claimed he attended the outlaw, Frank James, funeral. Frank was the brother of outlawed Jesse James. My grandfather would have been around 19 years old in 1915 which is when Frank James was buried. My grandfather was a great storyteller so I always took this story with a grain of salt but I still enjoyed hearing it.
