The Panda Scroll Saw Pattern and a video tutorial by Russ.
I have a special treat for everyone today. Russ Claridy from Simply Wood Creations, recently started posting videos on Youtube. Some of you who are members of the Community Forum on my blog will recognize Russ as the moderator who invests so much time keeping it running smoothly. Russ has been a great help to me and so many members of the community. Take a few minutes to visit his web site. He has a few patterns for sale and maybe if you encourage him a little he will make more.
The video is a tutorial on cutting inside and outside corners. Nice work Russ. Keep it going.

"I'm All In" Scroll Saw Pattern.
This pattern should make the Texas Hold-Em fans happy. It will make a nice plaque for the game room.
I pulled an all-niter setting up my new computer workstation. This system is built with video editing in mind. I have not completed many videos in the last couple years. The old Dell was just painfully slow when it came to rendering video. It made the process just too time consuming so I got lazy and did not do many videos.
I had this machine custom built and I am very pleased with the results. For the geeks out there here are some of the specs. i7-4790k Processor running at 3.5 GHz. 16 Gigs of DDR3 memory. GeForce GTX 960 video card with 2Gigs of memory. 500 Gig SSD boot drive, 1Tb storage HD and a 4TB data drive for backup galore. Dual 24" monitors. All powered by an eVGA 750w 80+Bronze power supply for room to upgrade.
The Guys over at KyTrade Computer Services put this rig together for me. My builders name was Hector. He made the process fun and easy. The service I got was outstanding. I had built this system in my head many times over so I had the specs ready when I walked in the door. Hector listened to what I wanted then made several suggestions that made the build come together perfectly. If you are in the Central Kentucky area and need computer services I can highly recommend these guys.
Thanks Hector and all the folks at KyTrade Computer Systems.
Now I don't have any excuses for not putting out more videos. Except for my normal excuse of being lazy.

March, 14th is PI Day.
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “Ď€”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159.
Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. As an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize, and to computationally calculate more and more digits.
Here is PI to 2000 digits just in case you want something to memorize tonight.
The Guinness official record for memorizing PI is 67,890 digits by Lu Chao.

Mourning Cowboy Scroll Saw Pattern.
We are still digging out of the snow. My dog Holly has never seen this much snow but she sure did enjoy playing in it. I usually have a hard time catching her when it's time to come in the house. 12 inches of snow slowed her down pretty good.

Scroll Saw Pattern Printer Programs. Free download for veterans from Sheila Landry.
Thanks Sheila for thinking about the men and women who have served their country.
Online Pattern Designer Program:
For many years I have had programs available on my blog that allow users to create basic scroll saw patterns. They will create key-fobs and desk name plates. Unfortunately they are all PC Windows only. Several months ago with the help of another programmer we designed an online version that will work with all operating systems including the Mac.
The online version is not as feature rich but it will let you make a couple different types of personalized scroll saw patterns. I have talked about this app before but it has been changed so I wanted to show it again for those who might have missed it. Check out the video for the details.
Yesterday I mentioned that we were expecting some snow. We ended up with over a foot of the white stuff. That is a huge snow for us here in Kentucky. I spent over an hour digging out this morning and still need to move some more snow. Our road crews did a great job on the main roads so driving was not that bad if you could get out of your neighborhood. I got stuck on my road twice but managed to rock the truck and get going. I'm officially ready for spring.

Snow!!!!!!
I live in Kentucky. A big snow for us is 3 or 4 inches. We are expecting 8 to 14 inches tomorrow. I know those of you who live in the north east US would consider this a nuisance but here it's a big deal.
I just looked at snow totals in the US for this year and cities like Buffalo and Boston are around 80 inches for this winter. That is a bunch of snow.
If you are in the path of the snow storm moving into the middle part of the country I hope you stay safe and warm. Spring is coming.

Cowboy Six Shooters Scroll Saw Pattern.
This Cowboy Six Shooters plaque is 9.5 inches wide. This would be a fun project to cut at a larger size. If you have never used the RapidResizer utility on my blog give it a try. Just look in the left column of the blog for the utility.
Download this pattern then use the browse button to select the file from the RapidResizer utility. The image below was resized to 150%. That percentage will print the pattern on to four sheets of paper and make the width about 16.5 wide.
The RapidResizer utility by Patrick Roberts is provided free to readers of my blog to resize my patterns. If you would like to use the utility for other patterns check out the RapidResizer web site.
