Music is special to so many people because it evokes emotions and memories. We play music at weddings, graduations, funerals, etc. The songs played at these events are often part of the memories we have many years later.
This music art piece is 5 layers of 1/4" thick wood. It is a little over 10" tall and 8" wide.
The second pattern is a nested cat family. This simple pattern is cut from 3/4" wood. The cats are 4.25" tall and around 7" long. No need to glue them together. Just let them nest and the person who displays them can slide the kitten forward or backward. The cats are cut from a single piece of wood. Do not separate the pattern. This makes a perfect fit. Sand all the edges to give them a roundover and you are done.

In the left column of the blog is a timeline. This does not show in the email newsletter. Only on the blog. You can go through all 17-plus years of the blog from this timeline. Just beware that the number next to the year is the number of posts I wrote that year. In other words, it will take hours(days) to go through them all. The main use is to go to certain dates before holidays and look for holiday patterns.
Here is the link to my blog if you are reading this in the newsletter. The left column of the blog also has other things that might be of interest
The timeline looks like this on the blog.
Every blog post goes out every morning in my email newsletter. If you would like to subscribe(It is free).

CONTEST CORRECTION:
I could have explained the rules for the giveaway better in the last post. The photo you need to send is the project of the basket in that post shown below. The idea of the giveaway was to encourage you to try this difficult pattern. A few people sent photos of past projects so I wanted to clarify that. Thanks.

This is a small basket with initials on the handle. There is a separate pattern for each handle A through Z. The basket is mostly decorative because of its size and the fragility of the handle. The diameter is 6.5". The handle, top ring, and bottom are 1/4" thick. The weave rings are 1/2" thick.

Think Safety
Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
