Steve's impact, the impact of the Scroll Saw Workshop spans decades and stretches across the world. Rose Murray shared his story of how Steve and the workshop impacted him and grew his own workshop.
Murray's Work Shop - Inspired by Steve Good
Like many of us, I looked forward to Steve's daily email to see what he'd come up with and if I wanted to make it. Although I get several emails on a daily basis, I always opened his first.
I chatted with Steve on and off several times. I found Steve very down to earth and I'm sure he raised his eyebrows and shook his head at some of my questions, but he never let on that I was just another rookie asking such basic questions.
Here is one of my scroll works inspired by one of Steve's golf patterns. The clock, which I bought from your Bearwood's online site, and a golf ball which is my own design, I gave to my son for his office so he could see how much longer before he could quit work and go golfing.
When Steve was in hospital I thought he'd like a little present so made this scrollsaw picture for him when he was a younger man. Sadly he passed before I could send it to him. It now occupies a space above my shop door along with a clock (also bought from your online site) that I look at every day. I think of Steve with every scrollsaw work I do. Rest in peace, Steve.

Tip: Check out the pattern AND check clock dimensions BEFORE cutting. Especially if you are using a clock insert, get the insert and THEN cut the hole so you can be sure it fits.
Murray also recently won prizes at a local fair, including for Steve Good patterns from the Scroll Saw Workshop catalog! Congratulations, Murray!

Think Safety
Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
