I don't do many abstract art pieces because they are very difficult to do. Creating a form that gives an illusion of reality but is abstracted is a challenge for me. I know it may not be some folks' cup of tea, but I actually like this one.
The statue is a little over 11" tall. It is cut entirely from 3/4" thick wood. One option is to spray the dancers with a metallic spray paint. One note of caution. The more reflective the metallic paint is, the more you have to sand the wood to make it smooth.
The second pattern has two boxes. The round box is 6.5" in diameter, and you can make it as deep as you like by cutting more wall parts. The top and bottom are 1/4" thick, and the wall layers call for 1/2" thick wood, but you can make a substitute to another thickness for this part. Just cut as many layers as you wish the box to be deep.
