Danielle Wendell's Gratitude Tree
I've always loved creating and crafting, even from a young age. After becoming a stay-at-home mom, I discovered a special love for working with reclaimed wood and appreciating its natural beauty. That passion for creating eventually grew into Wendell Woodworks!
One of our family's favorite traditions is writing down something we're thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving. This year, I wanted to create something special to hold those little reminders of gratitude while also serving as a beautiful piece of holiday decor. And so, the Thanksgiving Tree was born!
The two wooden layers easily stack together and come apart for convenient storage. While you could certainly use paper leaves, I chose to make reusable acrylic leaves that can be written on with a dry-erase marker and enjoyed year after year.
My girls have been adding a new leaf each evening around the dinner table, and it's become such a special part of our November. My hope is that this little tradition is one they'll carry with them and someday pass along to their own families!
