Welcome Sign Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download Below

This Welcome Sign pattern comes in two sizes. The small one is 10.5" tall. The large one is 14" tall. The sign is made up of three 1/4" thick layers.

I had a reader ask me about welcome signs. They wanted to know if I ever made signs that were not in the country style. I went back and looked and she was right. All the welcome signs I had designed were either themed or looked like they belonged in a country style home.

She wanted one that was designed to match a Federal-style home. That is what I tried to do with this pattern. I am certainly no architect but I tried to match shapes from Federal-style furniture. In a Federal-style piece of furniture, the flowers would have probably been painted on.

I have no idea if I succeeded but she likes it so I guess that is all that matters. Maybe a few of you can use the pattern also.

Fall Festivals and Holiday Craft shows.

This is the time of year when most crafts are sold. October, November, and December are the hottest months of the year for crafts. If you don't sell your crafts then it is a great time to go look and get inspired by local artists.

Many small events are held all over the country in churches, schools, and street fairs. Watch local bulletins boards and online community forums for these events.

There are also many larger craft shows that are regular yearly events. One place to find festivals and craft events is https://www.fairsandfestivals.net/ This site allows you to enter your search area and find shows that match your search. You may be surprised bu how many there are in your area.

If you have never sold at a craft show then consider giving it a try. It is getting short to build inventory for this year's shows but you can go, scout, the shows and try to pick one that fits your interests.

It is not uncommon for first-time sellers to become disappointed when they don't sell as much as they like. You may not even make your entry fee back. That stings a little but you have to gain the experience before you can make the correct decisions on prices, inventory, display, salse pitch and more. It is not easy but it can be fun. If you do have good sales then that is a big plus.

You do have to go into it upfront knowing that there will be a few folks who are difficult to deal with but there will be many more who will love to see what you have to offer. Meeting people who like what you do is very rewarding and inspiring.

Don't go hog wild the first few times out. You can spend hundreds of dollars on inventory, tents, credit card machines, entry fees and so much more. Start small and get a feel for what you enjoy.
A small church event is perfect if you have never sold before. The small entry fees usually go to help the church or community. School events are much the same as church shows.

Bear Woods Newsletter:

Not a paid ad.

Stephen, from Bear Woods, asked if I would share the link to his current newsletter. First, know that there is a coupon in the newsletter for 5% off orders over $50 until October 1st. If you want to try the Pegas or Niqua scroll saw blades this is a good opportunity to save a few bucks.

There is also an excellent video showcasing the new Pegas scroll band saw. That is a really cool machine. I have one now and am trying to find the time to do a video review. Watch for that soon.

I recently spoke about the Marathon Micromotor. They have the starter kit available now. You can see what that has to offer. Don't forget that they are giving away the Marathon Micromotor to one lucky winner online and another one at the Artistry in Wood Show next month.

There are details about the upcoming show in the newsletter also. Check it out and see if there is something of interest for you.

Personalized Christmas Ornament Patterns:

I am still making good progress on ornament patterns. I should be able to get caught up today. If you have orders in the queue, keep your eye on your email inbox.

The price is $1 per name with a 5 name minimum. I keep the price as low as possible
because I want everyone to have a chance to make these ornaments for family and friends.

You only pay after you have received the order and are
100% satisfied with the patterns. Invoice included with
the pattern email. Pay by credit card(secure Paypal), check, or cash.

The patterns will be emailed to you after they are completed.
Please allow up to a week for delivery.

You can use last names on the ornaments if you like but remember that the more letters the more
difficult they are to cut. Ten letters and up gets pretty small. If you need to you can enlarge the patterns by 10% to make the interior cuts larger. No special characters are supported. I can get a hyphen in there but it looks odd. It has to connect the two letters so it does not just fall out.

$12 per sheet of 12 coins plus $3.50 shipping
Inlay with a 1" Forstner Bit.
The perfect way to sign your work.

DEWALT DW788 1.3 Amp 20-Inch Variable-Speed Scroll Saw Currently $463.99

The current Amazon price for the DeWalt DW788 is $463.99. That is not the cheapest this saw has been on Amazon but it's close. At this price, it would make a nice upgrade from an entry-level saw. This price does not include the stand.

  • Double parallel-link arm design dramatically reduces vibration and noise for extremely accurate cuts
  • Exclusive tool-free blade clamps allow blade changes in seconds. Depth of Cut (inches): 2 in
  • On-off switch, electronic variable speed, flexible dust blower, and blade-tensioning lever all located on front upper arm
  • Arm design pivots from back of the saw to front, shortening the arm movement for smoother, quieter operation
  • Arm lifts so blade can be easily threaded through the material for inside cuts

This is the end of the daily posts. Keep scrolling for lot's more scrolls saw fun!
