Toy Helicopter Scroll Saw Pattern.

This simple toy helicopter is ten inches long. All the parts are 1/4" Baltic birch plywood and 1/4" wooden dowel. The body is made from three layers of the plywood.

This is not intended for small children. Please only allow age-appropriate children to play with this toy.

When I design toys that use 1/4" dowel rod for axles or part that need to turn I use two different drill bits. I always get questions about this. In the plans, I will show some holes drilled with a 1/4" drill bit and some with a 17/64" drill bit.

The 1/4" wooden dowel will fit snugly in the 1/4" drilled hole. The larger 17/64" hole allows the part to spin because it is larger than the dowel.

If you do not have a complete set of drill bits you may not have a 17/64" drill bit. Use the 1/4" drill bit and ream it out until the hole is large enough to allow the dowel to spin freely.

Important Suggestion: Backup those files.

Thanks to all of you who have purchased the Scrollsaw Workshop Catalog on DVD or USB drive. I want to make a suggestion. While both of these media are very reliable no digital media is fail-proof.

I recommend that you copy the catalog to your computers hard drive and keep the DVD or USB drive as a backup. Create a directory on your hard drive and name it. Insert the DVD or USB drive in your computer and copy all the files to the directory you just created. No special directory structure is required. You can there create a desktop shortcut to the directory for easy searching.

I know this may not be something all of you are fam
