Afghanistan Veteran Plaque Scroll Saw Pattern.

I have spoken to a couple of veterans this week and they are not very happy about events in Afghanistan. I do my best to avoid politics here on the blog. This pattern is not a statement about the outcome in Afghanistan. It is a statement of thanks to the men and women who served there.

They went and did the job they were told to do. The outcome is in the hands of people other than the soldiers. Some of them are still there and have a nearly impossible job to do. I pray for their safety and the safety of all who are in danger.

Like veterans from all conflicts, the veterans of the Afghan war gave up time with their families and friends. They endured hardships and in some cases, they sacrificed their lives. They deserve our support.

If you are a veteran please know that many of us appreciate your service to our country. Thank you.

I know I will get a few emails about this post. Some positive and some negative. I can handle both but I very likely will not respond, so don't be offended by my silence.

Hunting Clock Scroll Saw Pattern.

This clock requires a 2 3/4" clock insert with a 2 3/8" mounting hole. The mounting hole diameter varies depending on the clock insert. The pattern is designed for a 2 3/8" mounting hole. Just be aware that yours may be different. Change the hole as needed.

When I started the blog back in 2007, clocks were very popular scroll saw projects. Over the years I have seen clock patterns receive fewer downloads. Because of the fewer downloads, I don't do too many clock patterns anymore. Today I felt like doing a clock.

Hunting patterns do seem to still be popular so I thought I would combine the two themes and see what happens.

The clock is three layers of 1/4" wood. The base is 1/2" thick.

Outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, wildlife photography, etc have actually grown over the last few years. Hunting was the exception with a small drop but still, the Department of Interior report showed over 11 million hunters over the age of 16.

The decrease in hunting is actually a bad thing for wildlife. Hunters and anglers provide the lion's share of money for wildlife conservation. Fewer hunters mean less funding for programs like protecting the wildlife habitat.
