I looked at several lists of the top inventions of all time. Some had the wheel as #1. Others had fire, as #1. Is fire really an invention? One item that I did not see on any list was the box. Come on, the box has to at least make the top 100.
I can understand that the printing press, computer, and penicillin are all more important than the box. But all the lists have the refrigerator. What is a refrigerator? A box! I rest my case.
When it comes to boxes, you could design a new one every day for the rest of time. Just take a look around your home. You will see a lot of boxes. They basically hold things but try to imagine life without boxes. What would the UPS guy do? Santa would be in a world of hurt. Shoes would be sold in bags. Now that would be weird.
No box lunches. No glove box in your car. Where would you put your insurance card? No lockbox at the post office. And what about the mailbox? How are you going to get your Reader's Digest? No, I don't want a digital version of Readers Digest!
If you like boxes then this pattern is for you.
