I am Wishin I was Fishin Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download Below

I am Wishin I was Fishin. This pattern is eight inches tall. It can be cut from just about any thickness of wood. In the pattern I suggest 1/4" for both the fretwork and the backer board. Baltic birch plywood would be a good choice for this project.

Important Note:
I am way behind on answering email this month. I am slowly working through as many as possible. I will likely not have a chance to answer all of them but I will do my best. Thanks for your patience. It is fine if you wish to resend an email if you don't get an answer the first time.

I currently have a few hundred unanswered emails in my inbox for the month of July. If you have an urgent question use this technique. Use all upper case letters in the Subject field of the email. That is my code that I need to check that asap.

Lowest price in several weeks on the Delta 40-694:

Since the pandemic hit there have been very few discounts on scroll saws. I was alerted today that the Delta 40-694 is down to $314.90. The recent price has been around $350.

For those of you who are not familiar with the Delta saw let me give to a few thoughts. The Delta is a mid-level saw in quality. It compares to the DeWalt DW788. The DeWalt runs around $500 making the Delta look very attractive. Most people feel that the Delta fit and finish is below the DeWalt. I think that is true but not by a large amount.

If you currently own any of the entry-level scroll saws and are looking for the next upgrade then take a look at the Delta 40-694. For most casual scroller this saw should hold up fine. I would not push the Delta to several hours a week heavy use but the value is there for the price. It is a considerable upgrade from any of the entry-level saws.

I try not to recommend saws. I do my best to just pass along my thoughts on the features and quality of a saw. I can speak with three different scrollers and have completely different suggestions for what they should buy. You have to consider more than just one reason when looking for a saw. Price, quality, durability, parts availability, service availability, and warranty are all important at different levels for different people.
