A helping hand is always welcome in my shop. These benchtop saw horses come in handy for finishing/painting and even some light-duty sawing. They are super easy to make and can be customized to the size you need.
My offhand is holding the camera. Normally I would hold the piece with my left hand and saw with my right hand. They are not great for heavy-duty sawing but for small cuts, they work fine. You can further customize the sawhorse by cutting V notches for holding dowels while cutting or slots for holding boards. Make a few different cross pieces with different customizations.
If you apply rubber pads to the bottom of the feet the saw horses won't slide.
Removable nails for finishing and painting.
I cut the heads off of nails. Drill holes in the cross pieces. Insert the nails in the holes. Then I can get the bottom of the workpiece up for painting and finishing. You can paint the bottom and sit the piece on the nails for a no mare finish and easy drying.
You can drill several holes across the horse for easy placement.
In the picture above the board is elevated on the nails. Perfect for painting.
No need to glue the leg on. Just make all the joints a tight fit and you can easily break them down for storage.
