I was asked to design a very basic level holiday pattern. They wanted it to use easy to source 3/4" thick wood. I was asked to limit the number of interior cuts. With all these limitations they also want it to look nice. This is what I came up with.

The only challenges with this pattern are to make sure the blade is 90 degrees to the table so the pieces slide out smoothly. The next tricky technique for a new scroller is turning the sharp angles without rounding them out too much. This is a rustic decoration. You don't need perfect cuts. If you need some tips on turning corners then check out my video named "The most important Scroll Saw Technique"

Quick Stocking Stuffers: Make your own Pattern.

My free online pattern maker will allow you to knock out stocking stuffers quickly. The program does two things. It makes personalized desk name plates and key fobs.

Here is a link to a video showing how it works. It is very basic and easy to use.
