Small wooden scroll saw boxes are easy to make and they make nice gifts. You can mix up the wood
species to add color and interest. I used Mahogany, maple and walnut on this box.
This is a recessed lid box. The lid site on a ledge created by the width of the second ring noted by the arrow in the image below.
These type of boxes depend on superior sanding. The outer walls have to be sanded perfectly flush. The edges need to be eased over for a nice smooth touch. The finger hole need to be eased at the edges.
