This puppy puzzle is cut from 3/4" cherry. I used a #3 blade. This gave the pieces of the puzzle a reasonably snug fit. The #3 is large enough to cut the thicker wood without having to worry about warped cuts. Just don't push the blade too hard. If you get a piece that does not slide out smoothly both directions then the blade is warping. Go slower and don't apply side pressure on the blade.

I own a lot of power tools. Some are used every day and some are used very rarely. A compound miter saw is one of the tools that I don't use very often. When we moved last year I gave away the miter saw I had in that shop.
I decided I wanted another one for my new shop but I did not want to spend $500 to $1000 for a tool that I may use once every couple of months. So I did my thing on Amazon and found this Metabo compound miter saw. This saw is only $119 so I knew there would be compromises in quality. I just hoped that the compromises did not mean junk.
The saw has a 4.7 out of 5 average review so that made me feel a little better. There are nearly 7,000 reviews so there are obviously some bad reviews also. 80% of the reviews were a 5. If you buy a lot from Amazon you know that the reviews are not the whole picture.
I went to YouTube and watched the videos reviews there. I was convinced enough to order one.
I received the saw a couple of weeks ago and finally set it up yesterday. The setup was simple. There is not much to installing a miter saw and the Metabo was no exception.
