This layered Christmas tree pattern is 10.25" tall. The layers are 1/2" thick. I am showing the rendered image with paint but it is fine without the paint. The full pattern calls for 7 layers but it works just as well with the front 4 layers.
Here is a brief history of the Christmas tree. I did not write this and cannot verify all the facts but it sounds reasonable.
The custom of using evergreen trees as holiday decorations has roots in ancient times, when people in Europe and the Middle East brought evergreen branches into their homes during winter to symbolize life and renewal. By the 16th century in Germany, Christians began placing entire trees indoors, decorating them with apples and nuts. Legend credits the Protestant reformer Martin Luther with first adding candles to a tree, inspired by a starlit sky. The practice spread throughout Europe, and by the 19th century, German immigrants had introduced it to North America. Over time, candles gave way to electric lights, and ornaments evolved from edible treats to a wide variety of decorative baubles. Today, the Christmas tree is a widely cherished holiday tradition, symbolizing hope, unity, and the warmth of the season. (Credit: ChatGPT)
