Here is an early Halloween pattern for you to cut. There are three layers. All the parts are cut from 1/4" thick wood.

Can the Scroll Saw become a full-time job?

Elwood Cook says yes. I have known Elwood and his family for a few years. We talk often over text messages and email. Elwood is one of those guys who is willing to work 20 hours a day to get the job done. He works his scroll saw business during the day and also has a full-time night shift job. Luckily he has a very supportive family who also helps keep the business going.

I received a very kind email from Elwood that I wanted to share.

Hello Steve,
I wanted to write to you to tell you a little more about our woodcraft business, Family Time Wood Designs. We just hit 6 years and 2100 fb group members and I owe you and so very many amazing designers huge thanks for all the many times I have picked your brain starting out and still tend to do that at times. Out of the 1800 plus creations I make that we sell, the portraits, especially the Memorial portraits I create are so very near and dear to my heart. We have a memory wall of portraits at our house of lossed loved ones  I made & we cherish each one. I make and randomly give away 5 portraits  every month to others as Memorial portrait gifts and it's a wonderful feeling to be able to do that. We charge full price for the first portrait and then if multiples are ordered at the same time, we offer a half price deal on any after the first & lots take advantage of that. I'm going to include some portrait pics for you to see that I've done these last 2.5 years.  I appreciate your friendship and your amazing talent more then I can ever say. Making a difference in peoples lives  with using a scroll saw is the  best & most rewarding hobby & also full time job I've ever had. the first 2 pics I attach are of my, my wife and daughter and of our memory wall .

Here is a link to the photo section of Family Time Wood Designs. This will give you an idea of how much work the family puts out.

So the question should not be can a scroll saw be a full-time job? The question should be are you willing to work hard enough to make the scroll saw a full-time job?  Elwood and his family have made the commitment to do the work.

Layered F1 Race Car Scroll Saw Pattern.

The cost to build a modern F1 race car is over $12 million dollars. The engine is over $10 million of that cost. An F1 car produces approximately 5Gs of downforce. This allows them to take turns at remarkable speeds and travel over 200mph. World-class engineering goes into these modern marvels.

The F1 car I have for you today won't cost anywhere near the $12 million bucks to build. It is cut from 1/4" thick material. The pattern includes wheels or you can buy 1.5" diameter commercial wheels. Here is a link to the wheels I used from Bear Woods.
