Dear God Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download the Pattern below

This 8" X 10" two-layer, "Dear God" pattern has a wonderful message framed in beautiful scrollwork.

I spent several minutes editing the letters to make them easier to cut. They will still be a challenge if you are not yet proficient with the scroll saw. I suggest a #1 or #3 scroll reverse blade.

It can be difficult to turn a large board while making small intricate cuts. I am not normally a fan of cutting letters with a spiral blade, but it may be easier in this case. Practice on some scrap and determine what works best for you.

Scrollsaw Workshop Free Online Catalog:

I know that most of you know this information but I want to share it with those who are new. After I post a free pattern I upload it to my free online catalog. There are currently closer to 3,500 free patterns available for download.

It is very basic to use. Here are the key points. Note the numbers on the image above.

1. Search input: This is the place to start if you have an idea of what you are looking for. Type "basket" in the search box and all the patterns that have "basket" in the title or description will show up.

2. Category: There are several categories. When I upload a pattern to the catalog I try to select the most appropriate category for the project. You can narrow searches down considerably by selecting a category. If you need a baseball pattern, select the "Sports" category. There is also an "All" category. This obviously shows every pattern. It will take a while to go through them but they are all there.

3. Results. This simply allows you to set the number of pattern thumbnails that will display on each page.

4. Thumbnails of the pattern. The first page that loads have the last 12 patterns that I have uploaded. Simply click the image and a dialog will open that allows you to download the pattern. This section will change based on your selections above.

The patterns in this catalog are free. I work on donations for these patterns. If you enjoy the patterns and would like to support what I do then I appreciate any donations I receive. Do not feel obligated to donate. You may sell the projects made from these patterns. You may not distribute or upload the patterns to another site. I retain the copyright to the pattern. The patterns, cannot be sold or included in a collection of patterns to be sold. I appreciate your cooperation. Enjoy the patterns.

A set of large layered initial ornaments. The frame is ~10" tall.

If you cut these as door ornaments then you may want them larger. If you are using the default PDF viewer you can scale the print. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC has a built-in poster print feature. Look at the print dialog below. It highlights what is need to print this pattern to 150%. That print will be of four sheets of paper and the ornament frame will be ~15" tall. Just remember to print the letter at the same scale.

Sheet goods are heavy. This will help.

This build video comes from the WillWood YouTube channel. For very little cost, this simple little tool will make moving large sheet goods easier. When you go to the big box store for a 4' X 8' sheet of plywood just take this along.

I don't think the wheels are large enough to go over thresholds but they will get you most of the way. I think I would add rubber pads for better grip and less chance of damage to the plywood.

The key to this tool is the use of hinges. You can't see them in these pictures but once you see the video it will make sense.

Martial Arts Belts Scroll Saw Pattern.

 Download the Pattern Below

I was asked if I could do a martial arts pattern. Let me start by saying that I know nothing about martial arts. I tried to do some research but it is a little confusing to me. My intention is for these trophies to honor the student who receives their new martial arts belt. I think there are more belts than the ones I am showing but it seemed like these were the most common.

I apologize that I do not have a female version. If this pattern is acceptable and accurate I will go back and draw a female version. Anyway, that said maybe a few of you can use this.

Bouns Pattern: Tom Brady

This will be a challenging pattern for some. There are very small interior cuts. You will need at least a 1/16" drill bit and a #1 spiral blade for the small version. I also included a larger version that will be a little less challenging.

I wish I had more time to do requested patterns but it gets tough. I have spent some time this week trying to design a few patterns that people have requested. When a request comes in that I think I can use on the blog I will add them to my to-do list. Some pattern requests are so unique that there would be next to no other people who could use them.

I can only do a small fraction of the requests because of time. As an example, the Tom Brady pattern was a request and it took me about two hours to complete. I average several requests a week so you can see the problem. If I have ignored your request I'm sorry. I wish I could do more.
