Adjustable Flashlight Stand Scroll Saw Pattern.

I saw someone with a flashlight stand. That looked like something worth having so I designed one. I thought I might as well make a pattern out of it so that is the pattern post for today.

This stand is not for very large flashlights. The one in the photo is 7" long. It is rather heavy at almost .75lbs.

The pattern has three different size yokes. 1.5", 1.25", and 1" opening. You can play around with the size of the opening if needed.

You could also change the length of the base if you needed a taller stand.

This is the only rubber band I had. It is too thin. I will add a 1/4" band as soon as I find one. It needs to be just a little stronger. I will also keep a couple of extra rubber bands on the base just incase one breaks.

You will need a 3/4" thick board, 1/4" diameter dowel, rubber band, and 3" bolt with a wing nut. You can use a normal nut if you like. Once you get the yoke snug you don't need to tighten the bolt until it loosens up over time. The wing nut just allows you to tighten without a wrench.

This video has nothing to do with the scroll saw.

I have always enjoyed watching skilled craftsmen work. If I am at a craft show and the glassblower is working, I will stand there watching until my wife grabs me. The type of craft is almost irrelevant. I am just fascinated with skill.
