The number of on-road registered motorcycles in the US has doubled in the last 20 years. The current number is over 8 million. About 8 percent of households have a motorcycle. California has the most with 800,000 followed by Florida with 550,000. The average age of a motorcycle rider is 48.
Beginner riders typically pay $5,000 to $10,000 for a new motorcycle. Experienced riders pay $10,000 to $35,000.
This motorcycle model was cut from 1/4" thick Baltic birch plywood. The bike is 7" long. I kept this model very basic. There is not much realism but I think it still would look nice on a rider desk.
The rider is glued to the back of the motorcycle to act as a stand so it stays upright.
If you are new to the scroll saw you may have a tough time cutting accurate circles. People pick out imperfections in circles easily so you want them to be as well-cut as possible. The good news is that you can cut them sloppy and still have a nice circle when finished.
A: Cut just outside the circle.
B: Before you remove the pattern, sand down to the line.
C: Perfect circle every time.
You will find it much easier to sand to the line than to cut to the line. A disk sander works best but even hand sanding will get the job done slowly.
This is the lowest price in many months. If you are looking to upgrade from an entry-level saw this is a good choice for a mid-level saw.
