Here are ten cool facts about domestic cats:
Whisker Superpowers – A cat’s whiskers are highly sensitive and help them detect changes in their surroundings, making them excellent hunters.
Purring Mystery – Cats purr not only when they’re happy but also to soothe themselves when they’re injured or stressed.
Flexible Spines – Cats have an incredibly flexible spine that allows them to twist their bodies mid-air and land on their feet (the "righting reflex").
Super Hearing – Their ears can rotate 180 degrees and detect ultrasonic sounds that even dogs can’t hear.
Sleep Masters – Cats sleep for about 12–16 hours a day, conserving energy for their bursts of activity.
Toe Beans and Climbing Skills – Cats walk on their toes (digitigrade) and have retractable claws that help them climb silently.
Silent Communication – Cats meow mostly for humans, not for other cats. In the wild, adult cats rarely use meows.
Unique Nose Prints – A cat’s nose print is as unique as a human fingerprint—no two are alike!
Third Eyelid – Cats have a third eyelid, called a nictitating membrane, which helps protect and moisten their eyes.
Oldest Pet Cats – The oldest known pet cat was found buried with a human in Cyprus around 9,500 years ago, showing how long cats and humans have lived together.
Both of these patterns recommend a certain wood thickness, but they can also be cut from what you have available.
