Important Information:
I am in the process of updating the Scrollsaw Workshop catalog to include the 2022 patterns. It should be available no later than the next Sunday. The updated catalog will include all patterns from 2007-2022.
Free updates will be available for anyone who purchased the catalog in October, November, and December of 2022 or January of 2023. Information for that process will be given when I have the update complete.
For those of you who are not familiar here is what I offer. I sell an Instant Download, USB drive and in the past a DVD that has all of my patterns. These are the same patterns that are available for free in my online catalog. So why would you buy something that you can get for free? People requested that I make the patterns available just in case I am no longer online. They also wanted access to the pattern if they don't have an internet connection. If you are comfortable with using the free catalog then there is no reason to buy the catalog. There is a video below showing how the catalog works.
I am discontinuing the DVD version of the catalog. The demand for DVDs has dropped to the point where it is just not viable to keep that item. The USB version will be available for buyers in the US. The instant download will be available in the US and internationally.
Strong recommendation: If you purchase the USB version of the catalog you should strongly consider copying the contents to your computer's hard drive. Keep the USB as a backup. They do wear out and backups are important. Your hard drive will access the pattern faster.
More information coming soon.
Now on to today's pattern.
This toy can be a pull toy by adding a string or it can just be a push toy. The pattern calls for 3/4" and 1/2" thick wood. It will be fine if you only use 3/4" thick wood.
The toy is assembled with glue and wood dowels. The upper leg dowels are locators for the legs. This helps in assembly and gluing. The toy ends up being a little over six inches tall.
All the parts are large enough to not be much of a choking hazard. The ears are the smallest parts that could possibly come off so you could consider a wood dowel in the ears for extra connection strength. As always, use good judgment as to the age of the child before giving them a toy.
