The Workshop Steve Built

The Workshop Steve Built

To the Scroll Saw Workshop community,

We are the team at Bear Wood Supply Company, and we are deeply honored to have been entrusted by Mrs. Patty with the care of the Scroll Saw Workshop.

Steve Good built far more than a collection of scroll saw patterns. Through years of sharing his knowledge freely and showing up faithfully for this community, he created a place where people could learn, make something meaningful, and feel connected to others who loved the craft.

This Workshop carries Steve’s fingerprints and it is our honor and joy to keep it that way.

We recognize our responsibility to preserve what he built, keep his work accessible, and thoughtfully carry it forward. That includes preparing the Workshop for the future of the scroll saw community and improving the technology that supports it, while protecting the familiar heart of the place Steve created.

Before we begin looking ahead, we want to spend time honoring what came before and to do that well, we would love to hear from you!

If one of Steve’s patterns taught you something, became a meaningful gift, helped you through a difficult season, introduced someone you love to the craft, or simply gave you a few good hours at the saw, we would be grateful to hear about it.

Please send us:

  • Your memories of Steve and the Scroll Saw Workshop
  • Photographs of projects made from Steve’s patterns
  • The story behind a project that was especially meaningful
  • The ways Steve’s work or this community made a difference in your life
  • or anything that bears the same love that Steve had for his work and this community.

You can send your stories and photographs to: ssworkshop@bearwood.com

Please tell us in your email whether we have your permission to share your words and photographs on the Scroll Saw Workshop blog. If we may share them, please also include the name you would like us to use with your story, or if you would like to remain anonymous.

Many people have written privately about what Steve meant to them. We would like to give those stories a place to live, where the wider community can see the reach of his work and the many lives it touched. Together, they can become a living tribute to Steve and a record of what he built here.

Steve built the Workshop, our hope is to keep its doors open, care for what he left behind, and help this community carry it forward.

With love for Steve and the scroll saw community,

The Bear Woods Team

Think Safety

Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
