This Gnome couple is ready to welcome the New Year. They are about 10" tall and made from 1/4" thick wood.
Happy New Year, with the rockets pattern is 10.25" wide and cut from 1/4" thick wood.
This is an app I created that allows you to turn your System fonts into Stencil fonts.
IMPORTANT: To use this app successfully, it's important to watch the instructional video first. The process can be a bit tricky until you see it in action.
Please note: this app is in an early development stage and may contain bugs. It does not work on smartphones or tablets. It should be run on a Windows PC, or possibly on a Mac—though I haven’t yet verified Mac compatibility.
What does it do?
When cutting letters out of wood, you need a stencil font. Otherwise, letters like “O” will lose their center when cut. (See the image below for reference.)
This app converts your text into a stencil-friendly version, allowing it to be cut without losing the inner parts of letters. In the example below, I used the Arial Black font from my system. Since it’s not a stencil font, the center of the “O” would fall out if cut. The bottom image shows how the app transformed it into a stencil-compatible version. The original font itself isn’t altered—just adapted for cutting.
