This nautical art piece is 8" X 10". All the parts are cut from 1/4" thick wood. You can optionally use paint or different species of wood. I think it looks fine with just a single species but you have the options.

Here is an interesting video. Justin Christensen(The Scroll Saw Scribbler) shows his techniques to create intarsia art. His patterns are not the traditional fare. He brings a modern and more youthful design to the art. He gives a lot of tips and suggestions in the video. The video is a bit over 30 minutes but it is well done.

Simple Jesus puzzle. The pattern calls for 3/4" thick wood.
These puzzle patterns are fairly easy to make. You might like a tutorial on how to make these from any name. The video tutorial below uses Inkscape. Inkscape is free for Windows and Mac. There is a learning curve but in this tutorial I take you step by step to create a name puzzle. Here is the link to Inkscape.

Scrollsaw Workshop: A Year in Review.
I added over 300 more patterns to my catalog so far in 2022. I sent out 5.9 million email newsletters to subscribers in 2022. My YouTube channel passed the 50,000 subscriber mark. The channel passed 14.5 million video views.
The blog passed 14 million visits in 2022. The fastest growth for the blog was between 2010 and 2015. Then from 2015 through 2019, the growth was small. Starting in 2020 the blog started growing again and has continued to this date. Slow growth but steady.
The holiday season this year was very active. My yearly personalized Christmas ornament pattern sales were not quite a record year but not far off. Thank you for your support.
I consider this a successful year for the blog. Mostly because I still wake up excited to work on it. I have all of you to thank for allowing me to spend my days working on something that does not feel like work.
I am ready for 2023. I'll try to keep things interesting for you all.
