My Kitchen My Rules Scroll Saw Pattern.

Anyone who runs a kitchen will relate to this sign.

Scrollsaw Workshop on Pinterest:

If you are a Pinterest user then you may want to follow the Scrollsaw Workshop there. I post a picture of every pattern as soon as a new one comes out. You can quickly browse through the pictures and click on them to visit that blog post.

I only started a little over a year ago posting the pictures there so you won't find nearly everything but it gives you the last several months to look through.

If you are not familiar with Pinterest there are a lot of great ides shared there for nearly every subject know to man. Just type something in the search box and lose a few hours of you day.

Cutting Small/Difficult Parts on the Scroll Saw:

Every once in a while you may need to cut a very small piece of wood. These can be difficult to control so here is a suggestion. Use my Compound cutting Jig to hold the small piece. This will give you all the control you need.

The Jig is easy to build and worth having around especially if you do compound cutting.

This piece is about 1 X 1.5. I could probably hold it for the cut but why not get a little peace of mind and use the clamp.
Any piece at least 1/4" thick usually holds pretty well. If you want to add a little better grip you can glue sand paper inside the jaws.
You will not has as good of visibility so you may need to look over the clamp as to turn the piece. You will not generally be making long cuts this was so it's not much of a problem.
The small animal cut was cut with good control
Another cut I have made with this jig in the past was cutting a dowel rods interior.
The jig holds the entry hole 90 degrees to the table and makes the cut easy. You are probably not going to use this cut everyday but it may give you ideas for other hard to cut pieces.
A few years ago I cut a customized key fob from a 3/4" diameter dowel using this technique. I cut the  name using stencil letters. The jig made it much easier.

QIDI TECHNOLOGY 3DP-QDA16-01 Dual Extruder Desktop 3D Printer QIDI TECH I, Fully Metal Frame Structure, Acrylic Covers, with2 Free Filaments, Works with ABS and PLA

Folks, this is one of the 3D printers I own. I can highly recommend this printer to anyone who wants to get into the home manufacturing of parts with a 3D printer. I have used this machine a lot and it has done a great job for me.

I have had to email technical service twice. They are located in China but they respond very fast. They are also extremely customer centered and helpful. When I needed a part I expected it would take weeks to arrive from China. Four days and it was at my door step.

It really is a nice machine from a good company. There is a learning curve to this type of technology so expect to spend some time before you get it mastered but the time is worth the effort.

  • Fdm technology; dual Extruder; obtained CE,FCC, RoHS certificates; qidi technology is registered trademark by edify technology Inc
  • Aviation level aluminum plate its surface is completely flat and will NOT warp during heating process
  • Easy to Use software for simple customization of 3D models
  • Fully metal external frame much more stronger than PVC plate and wooden frame
  • New high heat resistant metal platform supports replace plastic supports

This is the end of the daily posts. Keep scrolling for lot's more scrolls saw fun!

Think Safety

Remember to keep the safety of yourself and others in your work shop in your thoughts at all times. Always wear eye and ear protection. Follow all the manufactures warnings that came with your power tools. If I demonstrate something on this web site that you don't feel is safe, don't do it. Your safety is your responsibility. Fingers are handy things, try to keep all of them.
